“On Iran, there's no difference between Democrats and Republicans. They're very comfortable with the idea that a foreign leader like [Benjamin] Netanyahu can take 300 million Americans to war whenever he wants,” said counterterrorism expert Michael Scheuer, who has worked with the Central Intelligence Agency for more than 20 years.

“Given the disastrous state of our economy, I'm not so sure we could handle all the effects of an attack.”

Amazing. Israel gets scarier by the minute.

Israel and it's AIPAC hold to much sway over US policy. The USA needs to do what is in it's own best interests. Israel is definitively not in Americas best interests. This liability is too costly in blood, morality and money. Theft, murder, spying, false flag attacks, attacking our troops, selling weapons to our enemies, etc... etc... The list of betrayals goes on and on. It's time to stand up and speak out!

Scheuer said no problem would be resolved “until they [US officials] understand we're being attacked because of our foreign policy and what we do in the Muslim world, we're never going to understand the motivation and size of the enemy.”

Both Israel and Iran are run by nutjobs. We should just let them duke it out and then go in and pick up the pieces.

In reality, if Israel starts a war, by attacking Iran, the US is not obligated to do a thing in her defense since the mutual defense treaty clearly states that IF Israel is attacked by an outside force that the full weight of the US military will be used in her defense. The key here is that we, the US, is obligated to defend and assist Israel ONLY if Israel is attacked not if Israel starts the war. I would suggest that this is the main reason that Israel is treading lightly around this situation and if possible would sucker the US into doing her dirty work by attacking Iran when they (Iran) are no danger to us except to our forces in other countries and for which they, Iran, realize that if they target our forces there will be a response. The thing here is to watch out for trickery and skullduggery for all things are not as they seem. Think the Gulf of Tonkin Incident here.
